Alcohol abuse explained
Alcohol abuse – what is it?
The recurring inappropriate use of alcohol despite negative consequences. A pattern of drinking that results in harm to ones health, interpersonal relationships or ability to work. Co-morbid issues that commonly accompany alcohol abuse are depression, anxiety, guilt, regret, infidelity, weight gain, liver issues and a massive strain on family and personal relationships
“Anxiety was behind my alcohol addiction. I was always told I could not be fixed; it was just the way I was born. Palladium taught me that was a load of rot”.
Cynthia Reynolds, March 2011
Why don’t traditional methods fix alcohol abuse?
Traditional therapies focus on the symptoms not the cause. Psychotherapy spends a lot of therapy time searching for individual triggers and the history of these triggers. Psychoanalysis spreads its talk therapy out, often over a number of years and relies often on medication to help manage the symptoms; again not the cause. Alcoholics anonymous promote the abdication of the solution to a higher force when what is required is education and responsibility.Talking about how you feel doesn’t change the thinking process that causes emotion.
“If I had not found this program, I would have been dead by now. No exaggeration. AA for a decade, same result. I have a new life and my children are with me again. I could not be happier. The Fountainhead Method showed me I was not weak-just un educated. Please guys-share this with the world”

Why Palladium Private works for alcohol abuse
Palladium Private’s approach to alcohol abuse is completely different to traditional methods that are low on results. We look for the cause of the psychological stress that is causing emotional symptoms as well as assisting our guests to reprocess grief and regret and also look at how they are measuring their self worth and esteem. Our solution has three major components:
▪ We only use Fountainhead Method ™, trained life coaches. “The Fountainhead Method™ is the number one system for understanding stress and its application to health in the world today” [1]
▪ Journey Therapy supports it. Developed originally by American author Brandon bays similar to time line therapy but different in that the focuses is not only to identify your patterns of behavior and its origin-but to change the pattern then and there. “Where was this when I was studying psychology at University”[2]
▪ It is underpinned by Mindfulness training which has existed for millennia but has only been explained scientifically the last twenty years. “One has to try to develop one’s inner feelings, which can be done simply by training one’s mind.” [3]
“I thought the alcohol use was causing the depression but it was the other way round. How happy I am to be wrong. Thank you Greg thank you Frank”
Ellen Moffat Sept 2009
Alcohol abuse is a coping mechanism. People who deal with stress properly who do not have overwhelming emotional symptoms and have a healthy self worth and esteem don’t abuse alcohol, there is no need. Unless the underlying stress issues are indentified and corrected then alcohol will always be turned to in times of crisis. Here at palladium we provide a set of coping mechanisms that can be used to break this cycle permanently, this combined with the reprocessing of old events to deal with grief and regret and the re-education of how to measure self esteem and worth properly make a combination that is more than the sum of it’s parts and incredibly effective. We cannot change what happens to you in life , but we can certainly show you how to react to life events in a different way cutting off this cycle of behaviour at its source.
What the experts say
The Anti Depression Association of Australia (ADAA); recently interviewed author Michelle Mark who confirms this new approach to treatment for alcohol abuse: “When you are experiencing the need to overuse alcohol, the real work needed to reduce it for the long term is not done by living in denial and hiding the behavior or even feeling bad about the behavior. The real work is done by changing the root cause of the emotional response that you use alcohol to control. Those who suffer from alcohol abuse must acknowledge that they use it to deal with stress and emotional issues , and for long term success they must learn not only how to reprocess old events to eliminate grief and regret but learn new skill sets in dealing with stress and self worth. The Fountainhead Method™ shows you how to do this”.
“I realize now I was doing the best I could with what I knew. To stop using alcohol I needed to learn a new way of dealing with my stress. Palladium changed my patterns of behavior for good. I am physically fitter than I have been in years, which is a bonus but more importantly I am happy in my own skin”
