Bi Polar explained
Bi Polar Depression– what is it?
Bipolar disorder (previously known as manic–depressive disorder) is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a category of mood disorders defined by the presence of one or more episodes of abnormally elevated energy and mood levels coupled with depressive episodes. Extreme manic episodes can sometimes lead to such psychotic symptoms as delusions and hallucinations. The disorder has been subdivided into bipolar I, bipolar II, (and more recently other types), based on the nature and severity of mood episodes experienced; the range is often described as the bipolar spectrum.
“I have had Bi Polar since I was 15, (now 36). After the Palladium Program I understand myself for the first time, and that is a huge relief. What they teach matched my beliefs –exactly. Thanks Salima and team.” Craig Parker, Feb 2010
Why can’t traditional methods improve Bi Polar disorders?
Traditional therapies focus on the symptoms not the cause – nor self understanding required for best management. Psychotherapy spends a lot of therapy time searching for individual triggers and the history of these triggers. Psychoanalysis spreads its talk therapy out, often over a number of years and heavily relies on medication to help manage the symptoms.
“I thought nothing could change my life. I was a mess. I thought of ending it all, constantly. The Fountainhead Method changed all of that. My family is back with me, and though I will always be Bi Polar, the future holds so much less fear” Robin Williams, November 2010. ( not the comedian)
How Palladium Private educates those with Bi Polar
Palladium Private’s approach to Bi Polar depression is completely different to traditional methods that are low on results. Our solution has three major components:
- We only use Fountainhead Method ™, trained life coaches. “The Fountainhead Method™ is the number one system for understanding stress and its application to health in the world today” [1]
- Journey Therapy supports it. Developed originally by American author Brandon bays similar to time line therapy but different in that the focuses is not only to identify your patterns of behavior and its origin-but to change the pattern then and there. “Where was this when I was studying psychology at University”[2]
- It is underpinned by Mindfulness training, which has existed for millennia but has only been explained scientifically the last twenty years. “One has to try to develop one’s inner feelings, which can be done simply by training one’s mind.” [3]
I was told nothing but medication could help my Bo Polar. Just not true. I had tried all the meds known to man. Now a year after my Palladium Program, the best meds is understanding. Thanks Greg and Jasmine, you saved my sanity – I think you saved my life.” Julie Meadows, April, 2011
Bi Polar Holistic Explanation (Mind – Body)
Firstly when working with Bi Polar we accept that the classifications are limiting. Our experience with literally hundreds of clients over the last decade shows us that there are literally as many variations on this behavior as there are sufferers. Common to most is some aspect of a core belief that they may lack some ability to become excited or positive enough about an idea or goal for it to be brought to successful fruition. The bi-polar sufferer will go through periods of having large amounts of sizeable goals and at times has what seems an effortless amount of energy (opposite to Depression). They may also neglect reality so as they can ignore obstacles. When a person’s mindset about the ‘ability to be excited or positive enough’ towards their goal/s turns into their ‘major concern or priority’’ there seems to be a mind body reaction which affects the sensitivity of the neurons to the neurotransmitters being released in the brain. This is expressed through the sufferer’s severe fluctuation of moods from heights of mania to depths of depression at what appears to an outsider to be an exaggerated level.
What the experts say The Anti Depression Association of Australia (ADAA); recently interviewed author Michelle Mark. “When you are experiencing Bi Polar , the real work needed to understand and manage it for the long term is not done by changing how you feel. Emotions are symptoms of thinking not the cause. Understanding and changing the root cause of the emotional response does the real work. Those who suffer from Bi Polar must look beyond the effects, and go back to the cause. They do not need more of the ability to be positive or excited about a goal for it to be achieved; The Fountainhead Method™ shows you how to do this. At the moment there is no cure for Bi Polar available, but The Fountainhead Method will give the sufferer a great understanding, some wonderful tools and the best chance of a fulfilling life”.
